As we turn the page on the calender to February, one can find optimism that spring is just around the corner. We finally get a day of moderately warm weather and some refuge from bitter cold and then..... it all comes to a screeching halt with, yet another, blast of freezing arctic air! When is it going to end?? This has been one of the wackiest winters ever in Thunder Bay. I cannot recall so many wild temperature swings over the course of a month. From -15 to -27 to -12 in a 3-day span has become the norm. Oh well. We are northerners and we get through it every year. Get out and make the best of it! I am hoping to get out snowshoeing for the first time (since I did some claim staking many many years ago) this weekend. Milder temps appear to be on the way and crossing some fresh snow trails seems like a great way to spend a Saturday. I will report back later and will, hopefully, have some great photos.
